The device has a camera (3) positioned near patients for generating digital video sequences with a unidirectional, soundless image connection for a service provider. The camera which is firmly connected with a transmitter (5) is connected with a transmitting station (16) for transmission of the video sequences to the provider. A receiving and evaluating unit (8) is installed near the provider for connection with a telephone network.
