The rail has an electric motor (21), which propels a driving shaft (48). A coil spring (31) is arranged between the electric motor and the driving shaft. The spring is arranged between a motor shaft (27) of the electric motor and a drive pinion (22) or a drive pinion (24) of the drive shaft. The over expansion of the coil spring is prevented by separate lifting accessories. An independent claim is also included for a shadowing device e.g. vertical blind, with a mounting rail.
