The floor assembly comprises a base plate (1) connected to side sills. A reinforcement module engages underneath the sills and is connected with shear strength to same in such a way that it does not reduce the floor clearance of the vehicle. The reinforcement module can be shaped as a flat plate (6) which has side webs (7,8) to engage round the sides of the sills. The reinforcement module can have a recess in the region of the tunnel (2).
