Method for removing of unwanted components (I) (preferably e.g. aromatic and heavy hydrocarbons) from a hydrocarbon-rich gas stream comprises adding heavy hydrocarbon-containing fraction to the hydrocarbon rich gas stream; separating the mixed fraction in a gas fraction released from (I) and a liquid fraction enriched with (I); and liquefying the gas fraction released from (I), further subjecting to treatment and/or used as product. Method for removing of unwanted components (I) (preferably aromatic, heavy hydrocarbons, unsaturated hydrocarbons, sulfur components and/or carbon dioxide) from a hydrocarbon-rich gas stream (preferably natural gas stream) comprises adding a heavy hydrocarbon-containing fraction to the hydrocarbon rich gas stream; separating the mixed fraction in a gas fraction released from (I) and a liquid fraction enriched with (I); and liquefying the gas fraction released from (I) and/or further subjecting to treatment and/or used as product, where the separation of the hydrocarbon rich gas stream (3, 4), takes place in which a heavy hydrocarbons containing fraction (11) is added in a separating column (T1).
