The device (6) is supported at a channel wall and continuously changes a turbulence swirl in each operating point of a combustion engine by using an external drive. The device steers an air flow strongly to the channel wall, so that the air flow is conducted tangentially into a valve area and the swirl is produced in a cylinder. The device accelerates the air flow by a nozzle shaped narrowing of the inlet channel.
