The method involves arranging fiber sensors (4) on a track surface (1) and a pressure-proportional signal from intensity of light that is reflected in the sensors is evaluated. The fiber sensors are provided in a matrix arrangement for pressure distribution. A fiber optic cable (5) is connected with an evaluation mechanism that evaluates the pressure-proportional signal, where pressure acquired is in the range of 0 to 10 bar. An independent claim is also included for a fiber sensor for acquiring pressure from footprint of tire on track surface.
