The method involves forming a signal spectrum as a part of echo signals reflected from an object. A predetermined characteristic parameter is extracted from the spectrum by one dimensional statistic analysis method. The extracted parameter is supplied to an intelligent hybrid system for identification of a predetermined object class. The hybrid system includes a neural network and Hiden Markov model network. The classification result is supplied to another hybrid system for result confirmation. An independent claim is also included for a radar system for executing a method of identifying an object.
