New block copolymers comprising aromatic block polyimide and block copolymer, obtained by radical polymerization/copolymerization of water-soluble radical polymerizable monomers, useful to prepare materials for material separation

Block copolymers (I) comprising aromatic block polyimide (A) and a block copolymer (B), obtained by radical polymerization/copolymerization of water-soluble radical polymerizable monomers, where (A) and (B) are bounded by a bivalent group (C), which is derived from a radical starter, are new. Independent claims are included for: (1) the preparation of (I); (2) materials (II) for material separation, comprising the obtained (I); (3) a preparation of (II) comprising admixing (I) with a solvent, evaporating the solvents and thermally treating the evaporation residue; and (4) a method for separating material mixtures using (II).
