The method involves providing target supply periods to a car production system. The production system supplies specimens of an object within this target supply periods. The target supply periods are measured three times to determine if the production system has supplied the specimens within the supply periods. The three measurements are made at start of the supply period, during the period, and at end of the period. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a computer program product with a digital storage medium for performing a method for monitoring a production system (B) a device for monitoring a production system.
