The system has an electrical lock with a small rechargeable battery for a door. A code is transmittable between an electrical and/or electronic key (44) and a transmitter/receiver, such that an unlocking or locking of the lock is effected after positive code evaluation. The key allows an energy transfer from the battery for the lock to activate the lock in case of failure of an electrical system in a motor vehicle.
