The headlight, sidelight or rear light (10) has a curved lens or cover glass (13) at the front. The incandescent light (11) consists of a halogen or xenon bulb in a recess in the center of a parabolic reflector (14) diverging rays (12) from the incandescent light are collimated by the reflector into a parallel beam. There is an electroluminescent strip (17) around the periphery of the reflector. An aperture strip (15) on top of the reflector limits upward spread of the light beam. The light and reflector assembly is held inside a closed housing (16).
