The drive unit has a steering motor (2) arranged coaxially to a traction motor (1). The traction motor drives a vehicle wheel (27) and the steering motor based on a steering movement around a rotary axis by using a reduction gear (6). A brake (13) is arranged between the motors for braking the wheel. Rotary and stationary components of the brake are connected with a drive shaft of the traction motor and a motor housing, respectively.
