The steering drive has a steering motor (1) e.g. torque motor, where the steering motor is co-axially arranged at a drive shaft (4) of a traction motor (5) of an industrial truck. The steering motor is used as a direct drive, where the steering movement of the steering motor is transferred directly to a wheel unit (7) by a hollow shaft (6), which is arranged around the drive shaft of the traction motor. A simple transmission is arranged downstream to the steering motor for producing steering moment and for transmitting the steering movement to the wheel unit.
