The module has a gas bag (24) with a gas bag wall (26), a venting hole closed by a closure device, and a catch belt (28) coupled with the wall and the closure device. The belt is tightened, such that the closure device closes the venting hole during unhindered expansion of the gas bag. The belt is guided along the gas bag wall.
