The invention relates to polyester polyols having an average equivalent weight ranging from 200 to 4000, which are produced by reacting alpha , omega -dicarboxylic acids with 1,4-butanediol, 1,6-hexanediol, 1,3-propanediol or 1,5-pentanediol as well as with polyols having 3 to 6 hydroxyl groups. The inventive polyester polyols are used to produce PUR cast elastomers that have an improved resistance to hydrolysis.
