The igniter (1) of a pyrotechnic generator - contains two ignition heads (2, 3) which each have a body containing a heating resistive element (20) and a pyrotechnic ignition composition (16). These two ignition heads also comprise a dialogue and triggering means (49) of encoded information as well as an electrical energy storage means (46). The igniter has rnoyens of connection (54 to 56) external designed to be electrically connected to an electronic control unit. This igniter is more particularly intended to be used in motor vehicle safety, in particular in order to constitute the device of the ignition of a gas generator associated with an airbag.
