A purified DNA polymerase exhibiting reverse transcriptase activity in the prese nce of magnesium ions and/or manganese ions having reduced or no 5'-3'-exonuclease acti vity and substantially no RNaseH activity and obtainable from Carboxydothermus hydrogenof ormans.
