The device has a conical container (1) with an orifice (2). The device is immersed in cold oil for 5 minutes to measure temperature of the oil using a thermometer (5). Maximum past time related to the temperature is measured. The device is completely immersed in the oil and vertically removed from the oil to measure oil flow time. The oil usage is stopped when the flow time exceeds the maximum past time.
