The unit has an axle (5), a potentiometer (6), a ring (11) and a slider (12) that are coupled to a rotary button (2) to identify angular position of the button. The potentiometer is coupled to an electric actuator via an electronic board, so that the actuator is controlled by the potentiometer to apply a braking force to brakes at an angular position of the button. The force is proportional to an output voltage of the potentiometer.
