The sensor has a lever (22) with two reading sliders (34, 36) producing output signals representing instantaneous angular positions of the lever with respect to a reference angular position. The sliders, at their two distinct angular positions, with respect to reading tracks (30, 32) associated to them, corresponding to each lever position produce two associated output signals. The tracks have electrical angular stop sectors (50, 52). An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle.
