The method involves sensing a radiometric signal emitted by a body and transmitting the sensed signal to a radiometer (10). A transmitted signal is detected by the radiometer, where the transmitted signal depends on the sensed signal and a characteristic of a connection unit (12). A mean volume temperature is calculated from the transmitted signal and an estimated connection unit characteristic value calculated beforehand. An independent claim is also included for an installation for measurement of the mean volume temperature of a body comprising a sensor.
