The system has a control unit (8) controlling the operation of a fuel supply common manifold unit (7) associated to a diesel engine (1) in order to inject fuel in cylinders of the engine. The units (7, 8) activate a fuel post-injection, between - 150 degrees and - 360 degrees crankshaft, in order to produce unburnt hydrocarbon in an exhaust gas of the engine, at the destination of a catalytic converter forming unit (5).
