The device has two sensor unit groups (15, 16) to detect the angular displacement of each shaft. The sensor unit groups are housed in the same non rotating sensor block (11). The groups cooperate with coder rings (9, 10) mounted on the shafts. The rings are distinct and independent of each other and displace angularly with respect to each other around a geometric axis of the shafts. An independent claim is also included for a mechanical assembly comprising two shafts and a rotational parameters detecting device.
