The method involves forming a set of luminous reference points on a calibration zone of a surface of a medium and determining the values of coordinates of the reference points of the zone, in a given spatial mark. The values of the coordinates are stored in a memory of an embedded computer (4). An image of the reference points is stored by utilizing a camera e.g. charge coupled device (CCD) storage camera, and the stored image is transmitted to the computer. Parameters of the camera are determined by processing the received image of the reference points, by the computer. An independent claim is also included for an image processing device comprising a camera parameter calibration device.
