PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for estimating a printing result which can correctly estimate the printing result, and also to provide a method for estimating a printing result, and a program for estimating a printing result.;SOLUTION: A film thickness distribution estimating part estimates a diffusion shape in the case where a plurality of ink droplets overlap on a printing paper. An ink film thickness on the printing paper is correctly estimated. A spectral reflectance estimating part estimates a spectral transmittance according to the ink film thickness of each ink component when different inks overlap. Hence a spectral reflectance of a color mixture part by the plurality of inks is correctly estimated. Estimation of a distribution of the spectral reflectance conformed to actual reflectance properties on the printing paper is achieved for estimating irregular reflection on the printing paper, so that the printing result is correctly estimated without actually performing printing.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
