PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser marking apparatus that can confirm whether or not printing is rightly performed on the surface of a workpiece by depending neither on illumination nor on ambient environments, and a printing confirmation method and a computer program for confirming printing results by using the laser marking apparatus.SOLUTION: A laser marking apparatus has a laser beam generating part that generates laser beams, a laser beam scanning part that two-dimensionally scans the surface of an installed workpiece with laser beams, a printing data generating part that generates printing data for printing character strings on the surface of the workpiece, and a laser beam control part that performs laser printing on the basis of the generated printing data. A first image obtained by imaging the surface of the workpiece before laser printing with printing data and a second image obtained by imaging the surface of the workpiece after laser printing are acquired to generate a differential image. A printing image corresponding to printing date for laser printing is generated, and the differential image is compared with the printing image to output comparison results.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
