PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a harmful substance elimination method for surely removing the risk of the contact of workers on a harmful substance and the risk of spattering of the harmful substance in peripheral spaces when the asbestos sprayed indoors and dioxin adhered thereto.;SOLUTION: In the method of removing a harmful substance, the harmful substance is removed from the inside of a working space surrounded by a working space isolation sheet 1. The working space surrounded by the working space isolation sheet 1 extended into a negative space is so formed that the pressure difference between the inside and the outside can be kept unchanged by a sheet tension, and formed in a circular shape in cross section. A handle 2 is installed in the sheet and a shape retaining frame 5 of a predetermined shape is installed in the space so that the working space isolation sheet 1 can be deformed according to the shape from which the harmful substance is removed. These members are connected to each other through a yarn-like tension material 8, and the shape of the sheet is restrained by its extension. The ventilation of the inside of the sheet is performed by an air volume controller 11 serving as a device for preventing polluted air from reversely flowing.
