PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the safety of storage by deciding ranking of waste solid fuels stored for not less than a specified period in each pit to be taken out in the method of operating open pit type waste solid fuel storage facilities which have a plurality of storage pits and handle waste solid fuels having different properties.;SOLUTION: The method of operating open pit type waste solid fuel storage facilities, having at least two storage pits into which waste solid fuels are carried from different manufacturing facilities, comprises previously acquiring the exothermic properties showing the relationship between the height of accumulation and the critical self-ignition temperature of the waste solid fuels from respective different manufacturing facilities, calculating the height of accumulation of respective waste solid fuels after a previously set specified storage period and the combustion temperature of the waste solid fuels in every storage pit of the storage facilities, judging the risk of the ignition of the waste solid fuels in every storage pit by comparing this calculated value with the above described exothermic properties, and preferentially taking out the waste solid fuels in the storage pit having a comparatively high risk to incinerate them.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
