PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic musical instrument and its method of playing in concert that make it possible to play in concert at a distant place without a feeling of incompatibility.;SOLUTION: Musical sound input information based upon a human playing operation is transmitted to a network by a transmitting means 14a and a receiving means 14c is provided which receives musical performance information sent from other place; and a delay means 14b delays the input musical sound information based upon of the playing information by the player himself or herself by a prescribed delay time and transmits it to a musical sound generating means 18. The musical sound generating means 18 generates musical sound signals from the delayed musical sound information of the player himself or herself and the musical performance information from the other place respectively and mixes them.
