PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for evaluating a wastewater treatment capacity, which make the reliability of evaluation high, which enable the wastewater treatment capacity to be evaluated on the basis of easily obtainable information, and which make the wastewater treatment capacity evaluated by using an element associated with various wastewater treatments.;SOLUTION: After computing is performed in such a manner that a known manhole pipe bottom height 2 in an evaluation target area 1, and a difference between the height 2 and a ground surface elevation 3 in approximately the same position are set as a manhole pipe bottom elevation 4, an underground elevation model is created from each of the elevations 4. Next, a water flowing direction 6 is computed from a difference between the elevations in the underground elevation model. Subsequently, after the water flowing direction 6 is followed to the downstream side so that drainage equipment 8, to which each manhole 7 belongs, can be determined, the area 1 is divided into the wastewater treatment area 9 which is formed of the drainage equipment 8 and the manhole 7 belonging to the drainage equipment 8. After that, a representative value, which represents a drainage capacity selected according to a causal relation with drainage, is allocated to each of the areas 9, so that the wastewater treatment capacity in the area 1 can be evaluated by setting the area 9 as a unit.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
