PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for total or partial prophylaxis of restenosis and/or a method for eliminating one or more clinical symptoms associated with the restenosis such as chest pain and to thereby provide a method for extending the benefit of PTCA (percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty), atherectomy and/or endarterectomy. PSOLUTION: The method relates to the restenosis after non-bypass invasive intervention and further relates to a method for ameliorating the symptomatic chest pain that occurs as a result of the non-bypass invasive intervention. The method comprises administering a daily dose of a dopamine potentiating/prolactin suppressing compound at a predetermined time and continuing the administration for a period at least effective for healing vascular injury.
