PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a summer heat stress alleviating composition and a food or beverage containing the composition which can be continuously taken in by preference even at the time of oppressive heat (for example, in the summer in Japan) when the appetite and the will of action diminish.;SOLUTION: The summer heat stress alleviating composition comprises at least lees of rice wine and rice bran. This summer heat stress alleviating composition is preferably used in inhibiting the loss of appetite due to the summer heat stress and/or the lowering of the amount of spontaneous behavior due to the summer heat stress. Further, this summer heat stress alleviating composition can be composed of a sweet drink made from fermented rice which contains at least lees of rice wine and rice bran.
