PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the deterioration of recording quality due to the difference of head positioning accuracy.;SOLUTION: The positioning accuracy measuring part 210 of the disk formatting device 200 measures positioning accuracy of each head for the plurality of heads of the disk device 100. A boundary determination part 220 determines an inner side boundary and/or an outer side boundary in an effective area to be used for recording data for each head and determines the effective area on the basis of the measured result of the positioning accuracy.
