METHOD AND INSTRUMENT FOR MEASURING SHAFT TORQUE OF DRIVE SHAFT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an instrument for measuring a shaft torque capable of accurately measuring the shaft torque acting on a drive shaft.;SOLUTION: Sensor targets 4, 5 are attached to outer rings 2a, 2b of respective constant-velocity universal joints 2, 3, rotation signals generated by the both sensor targets 4, 5 are detected by sensors 6, 7, and a phase difference between the rotation signals corresponding to the torsion generated in the drive shaft 1 is subjected to computation processing to find the shaft torque. In the computation processing of the phase difference, the phase difference between the rotation pulse signal on the outboard side and the rotation pulse signal on inboard side is found as the phase difference detection pulse number that is the counted value of a fixed frequency of pulse, having the frequency of rotation pulse frequency or higher in the maximum rotational speed of the drive shaft 1. The phase difference detection pulse number is divided by the rotational speed of the drive shaft calculated, based on the rotation pulse signal on the outboard side or the rotation pulse signal on the inboard side, or the rotational speed of the drive shaft measured by an external sensor.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
