PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an instrument for measuring shaft torque, capable of accurately measuring the shaft torque acting on a drive shaft.;SOLUTION: A sensor target 5 is attached to either of an outer ring 2a or 2b in respective constant-velocity universal joints 2, 3, and a rotation pulse signal is detected by the first sensor 6, provided facing the sensor target 5. Members 41, 42 with a mark comprising the sensor target 5 or another member are provided in the outer rings 2a, 2b of the both constant-velocity universal joints 2, 3, and the members 41, 42 with the mark are arranged at equal space on the circumference to attach the marks 43, 44. The respective marks 43, 44 are detected by second sensors 8, 9 provided facing the respective marks 43, 44. A torsion angle generated in the drive shaft 1 is measured by counting the number of pulses of the rotation pulse signals between the detection pulse of the second sensor 9 on the outboard side and a detection pulse of the second sensor 8 on the inboard side, and the torsion angle is computed to find the shaft torque.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
