PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing high purity nickel by which not only copper, iron and cobalt but impurity elements such as lead and zinc and a gas component such as hydrogen can be eliminated.;SOLUTION: The method includes: a step (A) of bringing an acidic nickel chloride aqueous solution containing impurity elements into contact with a strong basic anion exchange resin to adsorb and eliminate impurity element ions to obtain a purified liquid; a step (B) of subjecting the purified liquid to electrowinning using an electrolytic cell equipped with a cathode chamber where a cathode is disposed and with an anode chamber where an insoluble anode is disposed to obtain electrolytic nickel; and a step (C) of subjecting the electrolytic nickel to hydrogen plasma fusion in a high temperature atmosphere containing hydrogen at 5,000°C or higher to eliminate a vaporizing component remaining in the electrolytic nickel to obtain purified metal nickel.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
