PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for detecting a compound (an ecdysone activity regulator) regulating the ecdysis of an insect of the order Hemiptera, especially Aphis gossypii which is one species of insect pests of the order Hemiptera. PSOLUTION: A protein composed of the following amino acid sequence (a) or (b) is provided: (a) a protein composed of a specific amino acid sequence derived from the Aphis gossypii or (b) a protein composed of an amino acid sequence in which one or several amino acids are deleted, substituted or added in the amino acid sequence and having functions as an ecdysone receptor.
