PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating method of an original plate of a lithographic printing plate which enables on-press development free from ink contamination and excels in inking properties, and also excellent methods for plate checking and image quality control.;SOLUTION: In the treating method of the original plate of the lithographic printing plate, the original plate having on a substrate an image forming layer which contains a compound interacting with basic coloring matter and is removable by printing ink, dampening water or both of them, is exposed like an image and then brought into contact with a water solution containing the basic coloring matter. The plate checking method and the image quality controlling method for the original plate of the lithographic printing plate which use the treating method, and also the water solution containing the basic coloring matter which is used for the treatment, are provided.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
