PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a methylated DNA and/or non-methylated DNA in high sensitivity by using a PCR method and DNA microarray; and further the method for detecting the methylated DNA and/or non-methylated DNA, capable of obtaining a detection result having a high correlation with the ratio of the presence of the methylated DNA and the non-methylated DNA. PSOLUTION: This method for detecting the methylated DNA and/or non-methylated DNA comprises (a) a process of bringing a reagent for modifying non-methylated cytosine in contact with a nucleic acid in a test specimen, (b) a process of obtaining a double-stranded DNA fragment by amplifying the nucleic acid in the test specimen, (c) a process of decomposing and/or removing the one strand of the double-stranded DNA fragment to make a single stranded DNA fragment and (d) a process of bringing the single stranded DNA fragment in contact with a DNA microarray carrying a probe capable of hybridizing the fragment.
