PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a series of assay processes reaching detection from interaction and to achieve the enhancement of an S/N ratio by simply and certainly removing fluorescence noise.;SOLUTION: A detection surface is a surface for detecting the interaction between a probe substance (1a) and a target substance (2a) and is equipped with the probe substance (1a), which is labelled with a fluorescent substance (F1) and keeps the unlabeled terminal fixed to the surface S of a solid phase, and a fluorescence altering substance (Q1) for suppressing or modulating the emission of the fluorescent substance (F1). The surface is constituted so as to perform the emission or modulation release of the fluorescent substance (F1) by the above interaction.
