PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a series of assay processes reaching detection from interaction and to achieve the enhancement of an S/N ratio by simply and certainly removing fluorescence noise. PSOLUTION: A detection surface is a surface for detecting the interaction between a probe substance (1a) and a target substance (2a) and is equipped with the probe substance (1a), which is labelled with a fluorescent substance (FSB1/SB) and keeps the unlabeled terminal fixed to the surface S of a solid phase, and a fluorescence altering substance (QSB1/SB) for suppressing or modulating the emission of the fluorescent substance (FSB1/SB). The surface is constituted so as to perform the emission or modulation release of the fluorescent substance (FSB1/SB) by the above interaction.
