PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for modifying the surface of a fluorine-containing elastomer with which the surface of the fluorine-containing elastomer can be modified into a non-sticking surface without substantially deteriorating the rubber elasticity essentially possessed by the fluorine-containing elastomer.;SOLUTION: A treatment by applying a photoinitiator to the surface of the fluorine-containing elastomer is carried out and the surface of the elastomer is then irradiated with ultraviolet light. Otherwise, the surface of the fluorine-containing elastomer is subjected to a treatment by applying the photoinitiator and an organic peroxide or/and an aminobenzoate-based polymerization promoter to the surface of the fluorine-containing elastomer.
