PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gamma value acquiring method of a liquid crystal display by which a gamma value of the liquid crystal display can be acquired accurately and in a short time.;SOLUTION: A display controlling part 11 inputs input signals according to respective gradation values of a measured gradation value group having the number of gradations smaller than the all number of gradations and including the maximum gradation value and the minimum gradation value in a liquid crystal display L. Each time, the luminance reading part 13 reads a luminance value measured by a luminance meter 5 and a regularization treatment part 14 regularizes the luminance value to obtain a luminance ratio. A gamma value acquiring part 15 calculates the gamma value from the luminance ratio (a calculating part 16) or estimates the gamma value by an linear interpolation (an interpolation part 18).
