PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a feed additive extremely inexpensive through effectively using Japanese plum seasoning liquid which is discharged from a production process of seasoned pickled Japanese plum and difficult to dispose of, promoting appetite of livestock, improving meat quality, promoting anti-disease property, intended for deodorization of excrement, suitable especially for cattle, and in addition to the meat quality improving effect, or the like, capable of substituting for common salt which cattle highly prefer and physiologically indispensably require ingesting. PSOLUTION: This feed additive contains a fermented product obtained by desalinating to salinity of 10 wt.% the Japanese plum seasoning liquid which is produced as a by-product when producing seasoned pickled Japanese plum through soaking dried Japanese plum in a seasoning liquid, and adding a lactic acid bacterium to the product followed by fermenting.
