PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode panel for a cold-cathode field emission display device in which an electrostatic capacitance between a cathode electrode and a gate electrode can be made low without resulting in a high voltage of an operating voltage in an electron emission region, and the cold-cathode field emission display device in which the cathode panel is incorporated.;SOLUTION: This is the cathode panel for the cold-cathode field emission display device composed of the electron emission region EA installed at a duplicated region SA in which the cathode electrode 111 and the gate electrode 113 are duplicated. At the electron emission region EA, (a) a plurality of first opening parts 114A formed at the gate electrode 113, (b) a second opening part 114B formed at an insulating layer and communicated with the first opening part 114A, and (c) an electron emission part 115 positioned at the bottom part of the second opening part 114B are installed, and the thickness of the insulating layer in the electron emission region portion of the duplicated region SA is thinner than that of the insulating layer at portions other than the electron emission region of the duplicated region SA.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
