PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic congestion prediction system which predicts traffic congestion at an optional spot inside a link, and highly accurately predicts the traffic congestion of a road.;SOLUTION: The system for predicting the traffic congestion of the road by using track information obtained from vehicles traveling on the road comprises: an input means 32 for inputting environment information capable of affecting the traffic congestion, which is one, or more pieces of information at a spot where it is desired to predict the traffic congestion; and a traffic congestion prediction means 38 for predicting the traffic congestion at the spot on the basis of the inputted environment information by using a formula indicating the relation of the environment information and the degree of the traffic congestion obtained from the track information, which is prepared corresponding to the spot where it is desired to predict the traffic congestion.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
