PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a precursor of manganese zinc silicate by a reaction-crystallization method in an aqueous system, and a method for producing a manganese zinc silicate phosphor having high luminance.;SOLUTION: The method for producing the precursor of manganese zinc silicate comprises adjusting the pH of an aqueous sodium metasilicate solution before being mixed within a range of 1-3 when the precursor of manganese zinc silicate expressed by general formula (1): (Zn_(2-x)Mn_x)SiO₄, wherein 0x≤0.3, is formed from the sodium metasilicate solution and a solution containing zinc ion and manganese ion.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
