PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a working machine for cutting stems and roots for scaly bulb vegetables capable of surely cutting the root part of each onion during the conveyance at a prescribed position with a pair of conveying rollers.;SOLUTION: This working machine for cutting stems and roots for scaly bulb vegetables is equipped with a machine body 1 having a conveying passage part 13 for conveying each onion T from a charging port 11 toward a discharge port 12, a pair of conveying rollers 15 synchronously rotating in the mutual opposite directions, conveying the onion T and arranged in the conveying passage part 13 of the machine body 1, a stem part cutting means 20 and a root part cutting means 18 for cutting the stem part T2 and the root part T3 of each onion T in a state of the stem part T2 directed downward during the conveyance provided in the course of the conveying passage part 13 of the machine body 1 and further a blade 102 for the root part T3 capable of rotating and cutting the root part T3 of the onion T installed in the root part cutting means 18. A pair of endless revolving units 104 having the flexibility and capable of retaining the posture are brought into pressure contact with the shoulder surface of the fruit part T1 of the onion T during the conveyance with the pair of conveying rollers 15 to retain the posture of the onion T when cutting the root part T3 with the blade 102 for the root part T3.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
