PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for incorporating sulfur into pores of a catalyst for hydrocarbon treatment at a high sulfidization rate. ;SOLUTION: A method for incorporating sulfur into pores of a catalyst for hydrocarbon conversion which contains at least one metal of the group VI or VIII of the periodic table is implemented outside the site in the presence of hydrogen and sulfur or a sulfur compound. The method is implemented preferably outside the site in two processes. In the first process, elemental sulfur and/or a sulfur compound (excluding hydrogen sulfide) are mixed with a catalytic substance in the presence of hydrogen, and in the second process, the catalytic substance incorporated with sulfur in the first process is brought into contact with hydrogen. First, the formation of hydrogen sulfide is induced, and then the reaction between metal oxide of a catalyst and hydrogen sulfide produced is induced.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
