PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an arsenic adsorbing substance being schwerdtmanite having excellent stability, and to provide a method for efficiently decontaminating water or soil contaminated with the arsenic. PSOLUTION: Schwerdtmanite is stabilized by substituting at least a part of sulfate ions existing in schwerdtmanite with a silicate ion.
